For a thought to the loved one, a friend or your family, the options are many, but if you want to stand out, one of the best choices is a green gift.
Whoever has a green thumb is usually a scrupulous observer and if you amaze him with something special he will really appreciate your idea. So why not start with a beautiful bonsai?
1- A Zelkova can be appreciated if you want to give an elegant product but at the same time does not need too much care. It is indeed a very resistant bonsai, which will "strike" for sure!
2- Also the winter jasmine, native of China, is a bonsai not too pretentious, but that aesthetically will make its figure thanks to the sinuous trend of the trunk and the arrangement of its branches, which however towards the end of winter they are covered with beautiful yellow flowers.
3- How do you say? Do you want something more "precious"? Then you can not forget the varieties of Juniperus: Itoigawa, also known for the beauty of its berries that when ripe reach a purplish color;
4- Juniperus Chinensis Itoigawa, one of the most sought-after bonsaists, who already has a sinuous course by nature. This characteristic gives them a special beauty, ideal also for Christmas decorations thanks to the fact that they belong to the kind of conifers.
5- If your Christmas gift is addressed to a person fond of succulents, the Lophocereus Schotti is something very unusual and that will certainly amaze: it is in fact a rare fat plant, native to Mexico where it also reaches 7 meters d 'height. It does not require difficult treatments, but is appreciated above all by enthusiasts for its sculptural robustness that with growth will become a true work of plant art.
6- Looking for something even more spectacular? The Peruvian Cereus is a fat of unique beauty thanks to the ramifications of its stem that create a very lively design, which almost seems to climb upwards.
7- In the same way, take a look also at the Crested Trichocereus pachanoii. Its "globose" stem that develops like a fan gives rise to a spectacular plant, certainly not frequent to be seen in the areas of the old continent.
8- Out of the usual Christmas even with houseplants: those with a green thumb will also love varieties like Bamboo.
But if you want you can amaze even more, for example with something exotic, you can orient yourself on:
9- Phlebodium blue star, sought just for the color of its leaves and its veins
10- the Palm of Hawaii.
">The latter is a rare species, as in nature it survives only in the Hawaiian archipelago due to the extinction of its pollinating moth.
And for the less experienced? Many of you are looking for something easy to cultivate, but equally effective.
1- Ideal for winter and extraordinarily flashy is the Pyracantha, which during the cold period is dotted with small orange berries. It does not fear neither the frost nor the heat and is therefore a plant that is well suited to any season and any place.
2- And if it were a typical product of Italy, such as a bonsai olive tree? Good choice! This small shrub, strong and beautiful to see, will bring with it the Mediterranean atmosphere and with little attention will become vigorous and spectacular.
3, 4- Ficus Ginseng and Pepper are two other bonsai that will delight those who do not want to "bother" too much with care but appreciate the Zen art. Both can be positioned inside and will allow you to create a Japanese corner in any space.
5- Another very interesting bonsai from this point of view is Carmona, which is very appreciated for its graceful forms and is also called Fukien tea or Korean tea and at the end of summer produces small roundish fruits.
6- An estimator of the succulent plants will be satisfied if at Christmas he receives for example the Opuntia prickly pears, which are among the most characteristic of the Mediterranean, thanks to their blades that originate delicious flowers especially during the summer, and need only one water once a month.
7- The same can be said for plants such as Agave, of sure aesthetic impact, which can live up to 10 years and will be a tribute of sure liking also for their longevity (they live in fact even up to several decades!)
